Breast Pump- Spectra S1 vs Synergy Gold. October 14, 2024 | by FirstTimeMom093. Hey mommas, anyone have ...
I used the medela sonata and pump in style with my last baby. The sonata broke and I didn't love the pump in style. I would love to try the spectra.I am debating between the spectra s1 and the spectra synergy gold portable. I do value portability...
The only Spectra I would avoid as a primary pump is the S9. I personally used the S2 to EP my first baby and I got the portable Synergy Gold this time around. I also had the S9 and ended up selling it after a few uses.
I have a medals, but chose the Lansinoh over the Spectra through insurance. I did a lot of research and watched several review videos and ultimately they were SO comparable that the couple little pros (like ordering replacement parts- which is said to be easier with the Lansinoh) pushed the Lansinoh to the the front for me.
I have used the spectra pump. It’s a really good breast pump. I also have a wearable pump and generally speaking, the wearables aren’t as strong and don’t create as much output as the standard pumps like the spectra. They’re mostly recommended for occasional use, but not your main pump. I would recommend getting the spectra.

Spectra S1 is a primary pump where are zomee hands free would be a secondary pump. But even then, you should only use maybe once or twice a day IF you’re away from baby and you’re mainly breastfeeding.
I'm feeling torn between getting another Spectra S1 (will need to get new parts after the normal wear and tear anyway) or trying Elvie Stride (for its wearability). I will be going back to work in June but work remotely from home. I do lots of conference calls online so having a quiet and wearable pump means I might be able to pump during meetings.
Looking for some advice from moms who have maybe used these pumps before. I am trying to decide which Spectra breast pump to get… either the S1 or Synergy Gold. The Synergy Gold has two options, the regular and portable. I am getting my breast...
My sister bought the spectra s2 from amazon about a year ago, like PP's noted. She was able to EBF so she barely used it and gave it to me (my daughter born 13 months after her son). I love this pump and would recommend to anyone. I use the Philips AVENT bottles with the pump and they work really well.
