Kian John Francis Egan (born 29 April 1980) is an Irish pop singer, songwriter, and musician. He is best known as a member of the pop group Westlife . Westlife have released twelve albums, embarked on thirteen world tours, and won numerous awards, becoming one of the most successful musical groups of all time.
The group consists of members Shane Filan, Mark Feehily, Kian Egan, and Nicky Byrne. Brian McFadden was a member before leaving in March 2004. The group disbanded in 2012 and later reunited in 2018. In Ireland, the group has 11 number-one albums, 16 number-one singles, and 34 Top 50 singles.
Before Westlife, Feehily, Shane Filan and Kian Egan were members of the self-formed, six-piece, Sligo-based boy band IOYOU, previously named Six As One, which released the single "Together Girl Forever" and songs "Everlasting Love" and "Good Thing". Louis Walsh, the manager of Boyzone, was contacted by Filan's mother and learned of the group.
