The Tipton County Confederate Veterans Reunion, as it came to be known, continued to be held at Brighton until 1940. Brighton's campus consists of the main school building, parking lot, football field, practice field, a weight room, and a track. Additions to the school in the 2007–2008 school year gave the campus a new tennis court and another wing to the building, that includes around 7 new classrooms, a band/ choir room, and a more improved shop for the school's Agricultural Program.

The Memphis 13 are the group of young children who integrated the schools of Memphis, Tennessee. On October 3, 1961, 13 African-American first grade students were enrolled in schools that were previously all white. The schools that the students attended were Bruce, Gordon, Rozelle, and Springdale elementary schools. [1]
