Cleves is located between the Great Miami River and the Ohio River. It is separated from the Ohio River by the village of North Bend, along the southern border of Cleves. U.S. Route 50 passes through the village, leading east 16 miles (26 km) to downtown Cincinnati and west to Lawrenceburg, Indiana.

The Cincinnati Fire Department provides fire protection and emergency medical services for Cincinnati, Ohio. The department, which was established on April 1, 1853, was the first fully paid and professional fire department in the United States. [ 6 ]
Established in 1950 after the forest fires of 1947, the department currently operates two engines, one ladder truck, two ambulances and one brush fire unit. it also has round the clock staffing, with two paramedics and a full-time fire chief. The current Fire Chief is Scott Bragdon (1997).
Toledo Fire & Rescue paramedics staff 5 full-time Lucas County Life Squads and Life Squad 11, which is in-service from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily. At 10 p.m., Medic 3 (BLS) goes in-service until 7 a.m. Truck 6 and Truck 25 are "ghost trucks," put into service when staffing allows or the number of available trucks in the city necessitate. [7]
