Chalkidiki (/ k æ l ˈ k ɪ d ɪ k i /; Greek: Χαλκιδική, romanized: Chalkidikḗ [xalciðiˈci], alternatively Halkidiki), also known as Chalcidice, is a peninsula and regional unit of Greece, part of the region of Central Macedonia, in the geographic region of Macedonia in Northern Greece.
It is the seat of the municipality of Kassandra, in the center of the peninsula. Its population was 3,158 at the 2021 census. [1] It was named after the ancient city Cassandreia, which was located near the village.
