In 2011, Radio One changed several of its Atlanta-area stations' formats and call signs; WAMJ moved from 102.5 to 107.5, and began simulcasting its Urban AC format on 97.5 as WUMJ, while WPZE's urban gospel format moved from 97.5 to 102.5. That left WHTA as the only station in Radio One's Atlanta cluster that was unaffected by the change. [8]
The progressive talk format moved to Green 1640 AM in Decatur, Georgia in April 2011 upon WPBC's LMA with Reggie Gay's WZBN that brought about the format change to urban gospel. [3] Prior to August 6, 2010, WPBC broadcast a Korean music and talk format with the "Atlanta Radio Korea" branding. Radio Korea is now broadcasting on WQXI AM 790.
After WHTA relocated to 107.9, 97.5 FM relaunched as urban gospel station "Praise 97.5" with the call sign WEGF originally until December 5, 2001 when the call sign was again changed to WPZE. This was one of the earliest Radio One gospel stations marked with the "Praise" nickname which spread to its other stations over the course of the decade.
