Wali is an Indonesian Malay pop band formed in Ciputat, South Tangerang, Indonesia, in 1999. The band comprises vocalist Faank, guitarist Apoy, drummer Tomi, and keyboardist Ovie. The band has been billed as part of the "local creative pop" scene, which incorporates the use of Malay pop rhythms in their songs. [1]
The band's next album was launched in April 2008, titled Membumi. [ 14 ] Because of conflicts over what type of labels to work with, [ 4 ] Indra and Seno left the band in 2010 to form Audio Jet and were replaced by Oji, Muhammad Vidin, and Radja keyboardist and synthesizer Aldi Rizky.
El Wali is a Western Saharan folk music group who recorded an album, Tiris, in 1994. Their lyrics are "politically charged" and call for independence for the Sahrawi people ; [ 1 ] the album was described as "a call to arms—with national anthems, celebrations of political anniversaries, and religious pleas for peace".
