This is a list of hospitals in East Timor.. The Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste (East Timor) has one national hospital, Guido Valadares National Hospital (HNGV), which is located in Dili and serves as East Timor's only referral hospital providing primary and secondary care to patients from all over the country.
The hospital was founded in 1982 by the then Indonesian administration of East Timor, [1]: 12 and was built the following year. [2]: 29 Initially, its name, in Indonesian, was Rumah Sakit Umum Pusat Dili (RSUP) (transl. Dili Central General Hospital); [1]: 12 it was also known, in English, as the Dili National Hospital.
[2] [3] During the Indonesian occupation of East Timor, the hospital was renamed Wira Husada Hospital (Indonesian: Rumah Sakit Wira Husada).
