Susan Janet Ballion (born 27 May 1957), better known by her stage name Siouxsie Sioux (/ ˌ s uː z i ˈ s uː /, soo-zee-SOO), is an English singer and songwriter.She came to prominence as the leader and main lyricist of the rock band Siouxsie and the Banshees, who were active from 1976 to 1996.
Siouxsie and the Banshees (/ ˈ s u z i æ n d ð ə ˈ b æ n ʃ i z /, SU-zi-and-the-BAN-shees) were a British rock band formed in London in 1976 by vocalist Siouxsie Sioux and bass guitarist Steven Severin. They were widely influential, both over their contemporaries and later acts.
Siouxsie and Severin were members throughout the band's entire lifetime, alongside drummer Budgie who joined in 1979. and a rotating cast of guitarists including John McGeoch. The band broke up in 1996 but reformed for a tour in 2002 with a line-up of Siouxsie, Severin, Budgie, and guitarist Knox Chandler.
In 1987, he became a full-time member of Siouxsie and the Banshees. He recorded three albums with the band, Peepshow in 1988, Superstition in 1991 and the Rapture in 1995. In between tours he used to do a puppet show for local kids. [3] With the Banshees, he took part in the inaugural Lollapalooza festival in 1991 as second headliners.
