Tioman Island's southern mountains. Tioman Island (Malay: Pulau Tioman) is 32 kilometres (20 miles) off the east coast of Rompin District, Pahang, Malaysia. [2] It is 39 kilometres (24 miles) long and 12 kilometres (7.5 miles) wide and has seven villages, the largest and most populous being Kampung Tekek on the central western coast.

Ansonia tiomanica (common names: Pulau Tioman slender toad, Pulo Tioman stream toad) is a species of toad in the family Bufonidae. It is endemic to Tioman Island (=Pulau Tioman), off the east coast of Peninsular Malaysia .
It is located south of Tioman Island. Heritiera littoralis can be found on the island. [2] [3] In 1938, the British built three gun emplacements on the island to defend the straits. The island is the supposed resting place of a witch doctor named Merah, placed there because it was believed that his spirit could not cross water.
The airport's runway is "one way" as planes can only land and take off in one direction (north) due to nearby terrain. Tioman is a popular destination for private pilots based in Singapore and Malaysia, as it is only a little more than an hour away by air from Seletar Airport, Singapore compared to over 5 hours by surface transport.
Clarias batu (sometimes known under the common name Tioman walking catfish) is a species of clariid catfish. It is only known from Tioman Island off the eastern coast of Peninsular Malaysia . [ 3 ]
