Guru Nanak Dev University campus is spread over 500 acres (200 ha) near Kot Khalsa, approximately eight km (5.0 mi) west of Amritsar on the Amritsar-Lahore highway, next to Khalsa College. The university was founded in 24th of November, 1969 [ 2 ] and is named after the first Sikh Guru , Guru Nanak Dev .

Guru Nanak National College (GNNC) is situated at the by- pass Jalandhar, Punjab, India. Established in 1969, it is one of the oldest educational Institutes in the Doaba region of Punjab. The College is named after Guru Nanak Dev, the first of the ten Sikh Gurus. This institute was established for the 500 th birth celebration of Guru Nanak Dev Ji.
A nine storeyed Bebe Nanki Mother & Child Care Centre and the Guru Teg Bahadur Diagnostic & Superspeciality Complex have been built and attached to the college in the year 2012 with partial funding from Government of India under the Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana (PMSSY).
