Strawberry Reservoir contains four major fishing areas. The largest, at 64 percent of the reservoir's volume, is the Strawberry Basin, which includes the original 8,400-acre (34 km 2) Reservoir. The Meadows, located at the southern end of the reservoir south of the Indian Creek Dike, fills a valley of the lower Indian Creek Drainage.
The river flows south into Strawberry Reservoir, then through Soldier Creek Dam. The first 8 miles (13 km) below Soldier Creek Dam is owned by the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation, and is one of Utah's most productive brown and cutthroat trout fisheries, and was one of the first waters in Utah to be designated a Quality Fishing Stream.
