Shoe Show, Inc. is an American footwear retailer based in Concord, North Carolina. It operates shoe stores throughout the United States under the brands Shoe Show, Shoe Dept., Shoe Dept. Encore, Shoebilee!, Burlington Shoes, and Shoe Show Mega. The company was founded in 1960 by Robert B. Tucker [2] and has more than 1150 locations. [3]

Shoe Dept. Encore - opened as Beall-Ladymon. [7] The Beall-Ladymon chain was bought out in 1994, which resulted in the mall’s Beall-Ladymon location being converted to Stage in early 1995. [10] Stage was later converted to Goody's in September 2011. Goody’s was to be converted to Gordmans in 2020, but this conversion never happened.
The Elder-Beerman store was renamed Younkers in 2012. [7] Shoe Show opened a Shoe Dept. Encore store next to Younkers in mid-2015. [8] Sears closed in July 2016. [9] On March 17, 2017, it was announced that JCPenney would also be closing as part of a plan to close 138 stores nationwide. The store closed on July 31, 2017. [10]
In 2011, Hull renovated the mall even further. The Shoe Dept. relocated into the JCPenney wing, displacing several smaller stores and re-branding as Shoe Dept. Encore in the process. In addition, the previous location of The Shoe Dept. became TJ Maxx, while The Children's Place, rue21, and a Michaels craft store were also added. [17]
