Margaret Petherbridge Farrar (March 23, 1897 – June 11, 1984) was an American journalist and the first crossword puzzle editor for The New York Times (1942–1968). Creator of many of the rules of modern crossword design, she compiled and edited a long-running series of crossword puzzle books – including the first book of any kind that Simon & Schuster published (1924). [1]
Between 1928 and 1963, Macnutt held the position of Head of Classics at Christ's Hospital near Horsham, West Sussex, as well as being a housemaster. [2] The historian Norman Longmate wrote that he was the "James Boyer of his day, a notable teacher of the classics, respected, even liked, by his older pupils, dreaded by the younger boys, a bully and a brute".

Jerzy Władysław Pawłowski (Polish pronunciation: [ˈjɛʐɨ pavˈwɔfskʲi]; 25 October 1932 – 11 January 2005) was a Polish fencer and double agent.He is regarded among the most successful Polish fencers in history having won 5 Olympic medals as well as seven gold medals at the World Fencing Championships.
He has won two Commonwealth Fencing Championship medals: a silver medal in 2002 and a bronze medal in 2006. [ 4 ] In March 2007, under the coaching of Vincent, [ 1 ] Willis took part in a World Cup event in Germany, [ 4 ] where he won gold, becoming the first British fencer to win a World Cup event since 1981.

Gillian Mary Donaldson MBE (née Sheen; 21 August 1928 – 5 July 2021) was a British fencer and Olympic champion in foil competition. She won a gold medal in the women's individual foil event at the 1956 Summer Olympics in Melbourne.
