The head of the Presidential Secretariat is the Secretary to the President (also known as the President's Secretary), who is ex officio the most senior civil servant and head of the Sri Lanka Administrative Service. The current President's Secretary is Nandika Sanath Kumanayake. [1]
Kumanayake joined the civil service as an Assistant Superintendent of Sri Lanka Customs in 1997. [citation needed] He was appointed Secretary to the President, the de-facto head of Sri Lanka's civil service after the election of Anura Kumara Dissanayake in 2024. He was a Deputy Director of Customs at the time of appointment.
