David Sheridan Schweikert [1] (/ ˈ ʃ w aɪ k ər t / SHWY-kərt; born March 3, 1962) [2] is an American politician and businessman serving as the U.S. representative from Arizona's 1st congressional district since 2023.
In the 2022 elections, David Schweikert was elected in the redefined district. The new 1st district (as of 2023) includes northeast Phoenix, Scottsdale, Paradise Valley, Cave Creek, Carefree, and Fountain Hills. It is majority-white and is the wealthiest congressional district in Arizona.
