On October 29, 2018, 56-year-old Rodney Berget was put to death via lethal injection at South Dakota State Penitentiary, six years after the execution of his accomplice Eric Robert. He became the fourth person to be executed in South Dakota since 2007 and the 19th person to have his death sentence carried out in South Dakota since 1877.
