Diamond Caverns in Park City, Kentucky was discovered on July 14, 1859. [1] Tours are available year around; closed Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, and Christmas. Tours last one hour and is a half mile round trip.
Park City is a home rule-class city in Barren County, Kentucky, United States. The population was 614 at the 2020 census. It is the entrance to nearby Mammoth Cave National Park and to Diamond Caverns, a privately owned cave attraction. Exit 48 off I-65 is the only direct access exit to the Mammoth Cave National Park.

The park encompasses 1,351 acres (547 ha) and is one of the state's more popular resort parks. [2] [3] The park features a convention center, 18-hole golf course, and lighted runway for light aircraft. [1] The park received an upgraded rating from two diamonds to three diamonds from the American Automobile Association (AAA) in 2007.
Referred to locally as Burnside Island, the state park offers camping, golf, and lake access via boat ramp on the south end of the island. The golf course was voted first place as the Commonwealth Journal Readers Choice Award for "Best Places to Play Golf" in 2009. [3] The following year, it placed second. [4]
