The Senate (Dutch: Eerste Kamer der Staten-Generaal [ˈeːrstə ˈkaːmər dɛr ˈstaːtə(ŋ) ɣeːnəˈraːl], literally "First Chamber of the States General", or simply Eerste Kamer [ˈeːrstə ˈkaːmər] ⓘ; sometimes Senaat ⓘ) is the upper house of the States General, the legislature of the Netherlands.

Willem Anne Assueer Jacob, Baron Schimmelpenninck van der Oye (18 September 1834 – 31 August 1889) was a Dutch nobleman and politician. [1] He served as President of the Senate from 1888 until his death in 1889.
The Chamber of Representatives (Dutch: Kamer van Volksvertegenwoordigers, French: Chambre des Représentants, German: Abgeordnetenkammer) holds its plenary meetings in the Palace of the Nation in Brussels (see below).
