Mar 22, 2020. #49. Mar 22, 2020. #49. I talked my buddy into a Thermion XP50 recently. He came out to the ranch to sight it in and go hog hunting. What I noticed: Much better resolution with his 640 unit than my 384 Trail...but that is to be expected with four times the pixels. Battery life in the Thermion lines suck compared to the Trail ...

The Apex scope I bought in 2014 and sold to a friend in 2016 is still going strong to this day. OP, Please keep us updated on your repair results. SJC.

My preferred criteria and scopes I’m considering are below... CRITERIA. - $4000 to $5000 budget. - 640 resolution sensor preferred.

Oct 25, 2023. #1. For the past month or so (perhaps longer), I've hade the pleasure to play around with the new Pulsar Thermion 2 LRF XL50. It's their first 1024x768 HD Thermal Riflescope. It uses a Lynred sensor. The same as the Merger XL50, but IMO the image is a bit better (subjective) in the Thermion 2.

Jan 10, 2023. #7. Jan 10, 2023. #7. Unfortunately, though they try to hide it, Pulsar is Chinese also. A good rule of thumb is "90% of 90% of all commercial thermals are Chinese". And yes a few of the pulsars do incorporate the BAE sensor (not the core). Non-Chinese in the $3500 price range would be used market.

Jul 20, 2013. 260. 23. Dec 18, 2017. #1. Im needing help getting a dedicated thermal scope for under $1500. I’m trying to find one that I can put on a 22 lr/mag and even a 223 for predators. It’s going to be used mostly in the woods not in open fields. I would like something that could go up to 10x if that’s possible.

I prefer a scanner and a dedicated thermal scope. However the new Pulsar Krypton 2s (35 and 50 lenses) with their new fitting are quite good indeed, and smaller in size and weight than the previous Krypton. You can attach an ocilat to it, and use it as a scanner, then attach it to the adapter on your riflescope.
