The Los Roques Archipelago [2] [3] (Spanish: Archipiélago de Los Roques) [4] [5] is a federal dependency of Venezuela consisting of approximately 350 islands, cays, and islets in a total area of 40.61 km 2 (15.68 sq mi). The archipelago is located 128 km (80 mi) directly north of the port of La Guaira, in the Caribbean Sea.

Piedecuesta is situated in the Rio de Oro valley. One of its most notable landmarks is the Cantera's Hill, on top of which sits a large statue of the Virgin Mary (known locally as Cantera's virgin). Other landmarks include Guatiguara's valley, the Saints' Plateau, part of Chicamocha Canyon , and Ruitoque Plateau.
Gran Roque has a territorial extension of 170 hectares or 1.70 square kilometers is located in the northeastern part of the archipelago, being its geographic coordinates 11º 47´33´´ of north latitude and 66º 40´37´´ of west longitude in its central part. its highest point is the Cerro Roque with 37 msnm and has 2.361 inhabitants.
The Libertador Municipality is located in the mid-north of the country surrounded by the mountain El Ávila which is part of the Venezuelan central range.It borders by the north with the Vargas State, by the south and east with the Baruta Municipality of the Miranda State and by the west with the Aragua State.
