Grades 9th through 12th were attending at the Ashland Alternative School. Demolition is pending on the former Arthur Street School/former Walnut Street School/former Ashland Alternative School. [2] Ashland Middle School (345 Cottage Street) - built in 1914, 1924, 1938 and 1943, closed for good in May 2015 and was demolished in March 2016. [2]

Ashland is a city in and the county seat of Ashland County, Ohio, United States, [6] about 66 miles (106 km) southwest of Cleveland and 82 miles (132 km) northeast of Columbus. The population was 19,225 at the 2020 census .
The 1938–39 school year was the last time students were taught in the Anderson Schoolhouse because the school consolidated into Ashland City School District. [3] Hilda Carpenter, who taught grades 1–4, was the last teacher in this school. Glenn Messner also taught grades 5-8 that year but in a different building. [3] L. L.
