Marquette High School was originally known as St. Joseph's. It began teaching grade school and high school level courses in 1859. The name was later changed to St. Xavier Academy in 1900 when the school became an all-girls high school. In 1946, the school became a co-ed facility known as Ottawa Catholic High School.
