If you create a new article, it should have categories too. Find articles on as closely related topics as you can find, and copy the category formatting from them.
An excessively detailed article is often one that repeats itself or exhibits writing that could be more concise. The development of summary-style articles tends to naturally clear out redundancy and bloat, though in a multi-article topic this comes at the cost of some necessary cross-article redundancy (i.e., a summary of one article in another).

Some specific types of information require inline citations, namely: direct quotations, and any contentious material about living persons (negative, positive, or neutral). The article is written from a neutral point of view. Any controversial claims about living people are impeccably sourced.
The writing should be clear and professional, the content should be organized sensibly into sections. Is the article well-written - i.e. Is it concise, clear, and easy to read? Does the article have any grammatical or spelling errors? Is the article well-organized - i.e. broken down into sections that reflect the major points of the topic?
