The Castaways are an American rock band from the Twin Cities in Minnesota, United States. [1] They were formed in 1963. The band's only hit single was "Liar, Liar". [1] Written by keyboardist and band leader Jim Donna and drummer (and band co-founder) Dennis Craswell, the song was produced by Timothy D. Kehr and released by Soma Records, reaching number 12 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in 1965.
Donna and Craswell took it to the other members of The Castaways and they liked it. The song was recorded on March 2, 1965. The song was shown off to Soma Records founder and President Amos Heilicher and he liked it and signed The Castaways on a contract. [5] "Liar, Liar" was the first and only hit single by the Castaways.
Country Girls will continue as a five-member group, excluding group supervisor, Mai Satoda. On June 24, Country Girls performed at the TV Tokyo Music Festival(2) along many other artists, including Morning Musume '15 and Morning Musume OG. On August 5, Country Girls released their 2nd single "Wakatteiru no ni Gomen ne / Tamerai Summer Time."

Tony Rivers (born Douglas Anthony Thompson, 21 December 1940, Shildon, County Durham, England) [1] is an English singer, best known for singing with the groups Tony Rivers and the Castaways [2] and Harmony Grass. [3] Additionally, Rivers sang on albums by Steve Harley & Cockney Rebel, Roger Daltrey, Shakin' Stevens and Cliff Richard.
Girls' sound was heavily inspired by the music of the 1950s, 1960s, and 1970s, with their sound being described as lo-fi, surf rock, rock and roll, psychedelic rock, pop rock, country rock, and garage rock. Girls' debut full-length, Album, was released in 2009 to critical acclaim.
Raised in New York City, DaSilva was born to a Brazilian father and American mother. She speaks fluent Portuguese. As a child, she performed in local musical theatre productions and eventually studied both classical music and jazz at Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School, graduating in 2009 (alongside Josh Holcomb, Zack O’Farrill, Adam O'Farrill, Joanna Sternberg, and others).
