Residence Inn by Marriott is a brand of extended stay hotels. As of June 1, 2021 [update] , there were 874 Residence Inn hotels in the United States, Canada and Mexico with 107,680 rooms, plus an additional 243 hotels with 30,417 rooms in the development pipeline.
Opened October 16, 1971, the Royal Inn of Anaheim had 500 rooms, and two restaurants - Earl’s Seafood Grotto and Cocktail Lounge and Jolly King Family Restaurant. [2] Following the collapse of the company itself, Royal Inns sold the hotel in August 1976 to hotelier Jack Wrather, where it was re-named "The Inn At The Park". [2]
The first business to open in the area was the two connected Marriott International hotels, Towneplace Suites and Springhill Suites. Construction began in 2014 and the hotels opened in 2016. [2] Development was also stalled while construction of the Western Way extension to Avalon Road was to be completed. The new extension opened in 2019.
