John MacKenzie was an Army surgeon. He served as a burgess, a baillie, Treasurer and Dean of Guild on the Irvine Council. His grave is in the New Calton Burying Ground, Edinburgh, but there is a commemorative stone to him and his wife Helen Miller in Irvine Old Parish Churchyard. [5]

Roundhay Hall is a Grade II listed building in Leeds, West Yorkshire, England. Built in the 19th century as a residence for William Smith, the building is now a hospital. [ 1 ] The hall is in the Neo-classical style and is a design of Yorkshire architect Samuel Sharp.
