On 15 January 2025, a fire broke out at the nine-story Glodok Plaza shopping center in the Mangga Besar subdistrict of West Jakarta. The fire spread to the top floors, which were used as a karaoke center. A number of employees and attendees were trapped in the fire and were killed, with fourteen people unaccounted for.
