Auburn is located 20 mi (32 km) north of Fort Wayne in Northern Indiana. According to the 2010 census, the city has a total area of 7.10 square miles (18.4 km 2), all land. [15] Most of Auburn is located in Union civil township. Portions of Jackson and Keyser civil townships are also within the city limits.
