The Batang Padang District (Malay: Daerah Batang Padang) is a district in Perak, Malaysia. This district is administered by a local council, namely, the Tapah District Council, based in Tapah. The major towns of Batang Padang are Bidor, Tapah and Sungkai.
Tapah is a federal constituency in Batang Padang District, Perak, Malaysia, that has been represented in the Dewan Rakyat since 1986.. The federal constituency was created in the 1984 redistribution and is mandated to return a single member to the Dewan Rakyat under the first past the post voting system.
Tapah is located on the trunk road between Kuala Lumpur and Ipoh. There is an entrance to the North–South Expressway (E1) at Tapah via exit 132. This town is also widely considered as the main entry point into the old Cameron Highlands route , which is a winding and narrow road uphill.
