  2. Thin wires - tips for stripping and soldering?

    electronics.stackexchange.com/questions/27139

And back in the day, a chemistry prof I worked for as an undergrad thought we could get the plastic off ribbon cable using methylene chloride, AKA dichloromethane (DCM), which is known to be effective as a powerful paint stripper.

    electronics.stackexchange.com/questions/75250

Now I think that with brine, since one electron from each sodium atom is 'borrowed' by a chlorine atom you get sodium (Na+) ions and chloride (Cl-)ions which are attracted together. Under an electric field, the sodium ions drift towards the negative electrode where they gain an electron, then react with the water to form sodium hydroxide and ...

    electronics.stackexchange.com/questions/240346

It's copper carbonate hydroxide or hydrated copper chloride. Copper is still oxidized by forming these substances. Cuprous oxide is very well known as a semiconductor. Protective oxides only form on a few metals; most are permeable. And "ceramic" doesn't just mean some inorganic substance, but specifically refers to a material that has been ...

In other words, "amperes" can be electrons flowing, or protons flowing, or positive sodium passing through negative chloride going the other way. Or, fast electrons going one way in a spark, while slow nitrogen ions go forward or back depending on whether they're pos- or neg-ionized.

  7. DIY PCB Manufacture: Photoresist or Toner Transfer?

    electronics.stackexchange.com/questions/198533

Looking at DIY PCB manufacture all round the world wide web I have arrived at two most effective methods (from what I know): 1. Using a pre-made photoresist board to etch traces and 2. directly transferring ink from photo paper on to the copper (both using Ferric Chloride to route traces).
