Berserk (Japanese: ベルセルク, Hepburn: Beruseruku) is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Kentaro Miura.Set in a medieval Europe–inspired dark fantasy world, the story centers on the characters of Guts, a lone swordsman, and Griffith, the leader of a mercenary band called the "Band of the Hawk".
Kentaro Miura (Japanese: 三浦 建太郎, Hepburn: Miura Kentarō, July 11, 1966 – May 6, 2021) was a Japanese manga artist.He was best known for his dark fantasy series Berserk, which began serialization in 1989 and continued until his death.
The dynamic and turbulent relationship between Guts and Griffith forms the primary focus of the manga. During the Eclipse, to achieve his dream of obtaining a kingdom, he sacrifices the Band of the Hawk to become the new member of the God Hand and is rechristened as "the wings of darkness" Femto (Japanese: フェムト, Hepburn: Femuto).
