The Church of St Cuthbert is an Anglican parish church in Wells, Somerset, England, dating from the 13th century. It is often mistaken for the cathedral. It has a fine Somerset stone tower and a superb carved roof. It is a Grade I listed building. [1]
The Chapel of St Martin is a memorial to every Somerset man who fell in World War I. [132] The bishop's throne dates from 1340, and has a panelled, canted front and stone doorway, and a deep nodding cusped ogee canopy above it, with three-stepped statue niches and pinnacles. Glastonbury Tor is a hill which features the roofless St. Michael's Tower. [66] The Tor has a striking location in the middle of a plain called the Summerland Meadows, part of the Somerset Levels.
