Mansfield is a town in Bristol County, Massachusetts, United States. As of the United States 2020 Census , the town population is 23,860. [ 1 ] Mansfield is 23 miles southwest of Boston and is 22 miles northeast of Providence, Rhode Island .
The site was moved to Mansfield to create a regional venue, being within 40 miles (64 km) of Providence, Boston, Worcester and Cape Cod. The venue opened June 13, 1986, as the Great Woods Center for the Performing Arts; with a performance by Yo-Yo Ma and the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra. [3]
