The Bayfield Applefest is a fall harvest festival held in October, in Bayfield, Wisconsin. [1] Founded in 1962, it has become a destination for many people from across the Midwest , with an annual attendance of approximately 60,000 people.
The 2021 festival (not held in 2020) will mark its 59th year, and in 2009 it attracted over 50,000 people. The city of Bayfield, Wisconsin, located on the southwest shore of Lake Superior, serves as the gateway to the Apostle Islands and was named by the Chicago Tribune as the "Best Little Town in the Midwest."

The city of Bayfield is known in the Anishinaabe language as Oshki-oodena ("New-town"), as opposed to Superior, Wisconsin, which is known as Gete-oodena ("Old-town"), in reference to the Ojibwa migration.
