Philip Henry Hoffman (July 28, 1827 – April 17, 1924) was an American tailor, banker, and building owner in Morristown, New Jersey.. In July 1863, Hoffman was one of the purchasers of the historic Arnold's Tavern, [2] in which he established men's tailor shop and dry goods store, P. H. Hoffman & Son.
Its Morristown location used the historic Arnold's Tavern building from the 1770s, [2] [3] which was moved from the Morristown Green to Julia Keese Colles's property. When a 1918 fire destroyed the Tavern, the Hospital was rebuilt across the street and continued to serve the community until the 1970s.
