The Laguna Mountain Recreation Area is a park located in San Benito County, California, and administered by the Bureau of Land Management. [ 1 ] The recreation area encompasses 4,462-foot (1,360 m) Laguna Mountain of the Diablo Range , and is adjacent to Hernandez Reservoir .
Mount Laguna is on the Pacific Crest Trail. [4] It consists of a small general store, rustic lodge and cabins, local restaurant, rural post office, and campgrounds adjacent to the trail. The Laguna Mountain Recreation Area surrounds the village, and the visitor center for the pine-covered area is located here.
The highest point is Cuyapaipe Mountain at 6,378 feet (1,944 m). The mountains are largely contained within Cleveland National Forest. Snow falls on the highest peaks several times a year. Mount Laguna is a village in the Laguna Mountains with a population of about 80.

The Campo Indian Reservation is home to the Campo Band of Diegueño Mission Indians, also known as the Campo Kumeyaay Nation, a federally recognized tribe of Kumeyaay people in the southern Laguna Mountains, in eastern San Diego County, California. The reservation was created in 1891 by the US Congress. Two parcels of land form the reservation. The main Ewiiaapaayp Reservation is 4,102.5 acres (16.602 km 2) large, located near Mount Laguna, and 19 miles (31 km) east of Alpine. Only 1% of this arable, with the majority being steep and rocky.
The Cuyamaca Mountains (Kumeyaay: ‘Ekwiiyemak), [2] locally the Cuyamacas, are a mountain range of the Peninsular Ranges in San Diego County, California. [1] The mountain range runs roughly northwest to southeast. The Laguna Mountains are directly adjacent to the east, with Palomar Mountain and Hot Springs Mountain more distant to the north.
The reservation is 3,556 acres (14.39 km 2) large with a population of approximately 18. [5] The reservation borders the Cleveland National Forest and is accessed only by one unpaved road that is usually fenced off to prevent trespassers. [3] It was established in 1893.
