Colonel H.S. Olcott, founder of Vijaya College. Matale Vijaya College [1] (Sinhala: විජය විද්යාලය), or (VCM) is a "Buddhist College" situated in Matale city center, A9 highway main road. It is the oldest Buddhist college in Matale District. Vijaya College was founded in 1886 by Henry Steel Olcott.
Vijaya College is an educational institution in Bengaluru in the Indian state of Karnataka. It was established in 1942. It is one of the oldest colleges in India. In 1946, Bangalore Intermediate College was renamed as Vijaya College. In 1947, the present campus area measuring 450 ft X 500 ft was sanctioned by the City Municipality, Bengaluru.
Vijaya College is a college in Mulki in Dakshina Kannada district. The college is affiliated to Mangalore University . It is managed by Academy of Higher Education, Manipal .
He joined the Hindu College as a lecturer in 1913 where he taught till 1918. [6] [7] He served as the Professor of History, Banaras Hindu University from 1918 to 1920. [6] After that he became the Principal of the then new Arts College of Annamalai University. [8] In 1929, he was employed as the Professor of History at National College, Trichy.
There was a fire in 2008. Later a new development project was initiated in 2011-2012 during the tenure of B. S. Yediyurappa and B. N. Vijaya Kumar worth around 193 crores that also involved demolishing the Puttanna Kanagal theatre. [7]
