The Chaserider brand name, which refers to Cannock Chase, was first used by Midland Red from 1977 [2] until 1992.. During November 2020, Centrebus Group subsidiary D&G Bus announced they would be taking over the Cannock depot of Arriva Midlands from the end of January 2021 with operations in Cannock and Stafford running under the revived Chaserider brand.
In February 2022, Chaserider announced that it would withdraw the Saturday service and some late afternoon journeys due to low passenger numbers, starting on 20 February. [ 2 ] [ 3 ] [ 4 ] The route was later proposed for complete withdrawal, however, in May 2022 it was announced that it would be retained.
D&G Bus was formed by David Reeves and Gerald Henderson in April 1998 initially operating four buses on two routes under contract to Stoke-on-Trent City Council. It expanded with both route and school services in Cheshire and Staffordshire with 16 buses by the end of 1998. In April 2005 D&G Bus purchased Wednesfield based Midland.
Most routes west of Port Jefferson and Patchogue are scheduled with 30 minute headways (60 minutes on routes 3, 10 and 15) during weekdays until at least 6:00 p.m. On all routes from Port Jefferson and Patchogue and to the east, including the north-south routes between those two terminals, there are 60-minute headways (except for 30-minute headways on routes 51 and 66).

It was one of the largest English bus companies, operating over a large area between Gloucester in the south and Derbyshire in the north, and from Northampton to the Welsh border. The company also manufactured buses.
