The Manhattan Soccer Club formed in 1997 as a new group from a recreational soccer league on the Upper West Side of NYC. In the next five years, Manhattan SC grew quickly while staying involved in a few local leagues. The club began to grow more in the mid-2000s when it formed its first state and regional-level teams in NYC.
