The Florida Sheriffs Association (FSA) is a non-profit professional association of Florida's 66 elected Sheriffs, along with approximately 3,500 business leaders and 70,000 citizens throughout the state. The FSA's mission is to enhance law enforcement through educational and charitable purposes within the state of Florida.
The association was founded in 2011 by former Arizona sheriff Richard Mack who was a board member of the Oath Keepers at the time. [8] In 2017, the association said it had 4,500 dues-paying members, with more than 200 sheriffs among them. [1] In 2021, Mack said that 300 of the 3,000 sheriffs in the U.S. were members of the association. [8]
The Broward County Sheriff's Office (BSO) is a public safety organization With 5,400 employees, [2] it is the largest sheriff's office in the state of Florida. Sheriff Gregory Tony heads the agency.
