Most abs sensors are rusted in place and are removed with a hammer and chisel. If on the rear the bolt may break, easy to drill out. File the hole in the knuckle for the new sensor to fit.

I think you have two seperate problems there. 1) The ABS light is probably on due to a faulty wheel speed sensor, but you will need VCDS or equivilent to check the ABS controller. 2) The BRAKE light usually flashes when the fluid is low- have a look at the resevoir.
