Chelsea Heights is the older and more historic of the two neighborhoods. It primarily contains single-family homes, but also contains a modest, low-rise condominium complex called Emory Chase, and duplex homes on North Parkwood Rd. Westchester Hills consists of single-family homes, the Decatur YMCA and a nursing home.
The city was itself named in honor of Stephen Decatur, a naval officer during the early 19th century. [1] A $46 million Clark County construction project that widened much of Decatur Boulevard and introduced a railroad crossing for both Decatur Blvd and Warm Springs Road under the Union Pacific tracks was completed in summer 2010. Charles Dugan House, also known as the Adams County Historical Society Museum, is a historic home located at Decatur, Adams County, Indiana. It was designed by the prominent architectural firm of Wing & Mahurin and built in 1902. It is a two-story, Classical Revival style yellow brick dwelling with a hipped roof.
