UAA entrance sign. In 1954, the Anchorage Community College (ACC) was founded and began offering evening classes to 414 students at Elmendorf Air Force Base.In 1962, the ACC, and other community colleges around the state were incorporated into the University of Alaska statewide system.
The college eventually decided to build an entirely new facility on the existing campus property. [4] The new facility, known as Bayview Hall opened after spring break in 2011. The hall is 7,000 square feet (650 m 2) and cost 2.5 million dollars to construct. It contains new classrooms, faculty offices, and a multi purpose "learning center." [5]
Ohio Valley University was a private Christian college located between Parkersburg and Vienna in West Virginia. Founded in 1958 (with classes beginning in fall 1960), the school integrated education with teachings of the Christian faith. The college was physically located on two separate campuses totalling 267 acres (108 ha).
The college began in 1958 as Palmer Community College, changing its name in 1963 to correspond to the Matanuska-Susitna Borough where it is located. It is commonly called Mat-Su College. Total enrollment is about 1,100 students per semester. Dr. Marie Gardner will start as the college director in October of 2023.

The college's advanced licensure programs fully accredited through Dec 2028 by the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP). [1] As of 2022, the program is provisionally approved to recommend graduates for PK-3 licensure by Alaska Department of Education & Early Development .
