Mizonokuchi Station is served by the Tōkyū Den-en-toshi Line and Tōkyū Ōimachi Line.It is 11.4 kilometers from the starting point of the Tōkyū Den-en-toshi Line at Shibuya Station, [1] and is the starting point of Tōkyū Ōimachi Line services, which branch off at Futako-tamagawa Station.

The company name is officially abbreviated as JR-EAST [11] or JR East in English, and as JR Higashi-Nihon (JR東日本, Jeiāru Higashi-Nihon, lit. ' ’’JR East Japan’’ ') in Japanese.

The station opened on 10 July 1872 (June 5 in original Japanese calendar then in use) as the first intermediate station of the first railway in Japan when it was providing a trial service on the section between Shinagawa Station and Sakuragichō Station in Yokohama before the official inauguration in October 1872.
The latter runs on the express track between Futako-Tamagawa and Mizonokuchi and does not stop at Futako-Shinchi or Takatsu. Limited-stop "Express" services are also provided. On weekends, two seven-car express trains per days are operated to/from Ōimachi and Nagatsuta on the Tokyu Den-en-toshi Line .
