Often, the main problem with drawing chemical structures in inkscape is that it does not have a hexagonal matrix built in. One of the problems with Inkscape is that it saves its images as its own special version of SVG. Unfortunately there seems to be no way to make the program use standard SVG as the default mode for saving, so it is necessary to select the standard version of SVG each time a file is saved.
