PPI has nothing to do with cameras, you're thinking of DPI. You will be able to print higher-DPI (dots per inch) pictures if your camera's sensor can capture more megapixels. PPI (pixels per inch) is a completely irrelevant metric to measure a camera by, it's like measuring a boat's displacement by what color it is.
