When my vet starts talking like that (going to go back to school, buy an RV and live in it full time traveling the US, get a farm in Oklahoma and work it by himself) I usually just listen to him without getting too wound up. Theoretically he could do any of that, and usually these plans don't include me.

I haven't connected with her as much as I wish though. Honestly, I think some of that is me. My life is just so full now. I work full time and am going to school. I moved across the country to live with my fiancee and so my life has changed a ton - a new job, new state, and living with someone (in a relationship) for the first time.

“Because no matter where I’m living you’ll always have a room.” I didn’t even think about what I was saying, but it knocked him back on his heels / big reaction, so we talked about it. My feeling is/was I didn’t effing care if he only used it once every other year, or came to visit every school break, or lived with me full time.

I graduated with my AA degree last summer. I worked full time up until this year, I work about 30/week now. I am the official administrator of my dad's estate and tasked with clearing out all his belongings, settling debt, and selling the house we have lived in for ten years. Over the last ten years it's been hard living in an unhealthy ...

My goal was to try and get a new place before he gets back. I can't do that. He pays my rent and utilities, and I work a job that is technically full time but I live mostly paycheck to paycheck because where we live is only getting more and more expensive and my pay is very "you can survive but barely" at the moment.

So she opened the cash register so I could pay and then when she said now the bookstore doesn't close for another half an hour so you can take your time to enjoy your tea, which was rather lovely. Catching people doing good things and acknowledging that is a good way to go.So writing an email of appreciation at the beginning of each and end of ...

Yet there are parents who can't accept the possibility of their child ever coming close to living a life they never had, let alone living their long lost dreams. In a world wide system of hidden abuse and suffering that goes unseen behind closed doors and overlooked by a bureaucracy that can't deal with the overload of tragic cases, many ...

2.) Personally, and from what my therapist agrees with - it's also important to not just go through EMDR without also engaging in CBT or Talk Therapy during that time. To endure EMDR without those things can be dangerous as you, the patient, are experiencing feelings that you will need help sorting out. 3.)

  10. General The Therapist's Take On Sleeping In The Living Room

    www.myptsd.com/threads/the-therapists-take-on-sleeping-in-the-living-room.10713

If you can't build or buy a Murphy bed, try just getting an inflatable queen bed with one of those built-in pumps and blow it up and make the bed every night. Take it down and put it away in the morning. That's a compromise on the bed issue that could reinforce the concept that people sleep in beds. Plus, it turns the living room back into a ...

In the long term, sure, treating your PTSD & getting your symptoms down to a place where you can work full time (or part time) bringing in good money is a great goal. The awesome thing about great goals, is that they have a whole lot of steps that make them up, a whole lot of different paths to them, and provide a whole lot of purpose & sense ...
