The White River flows out of Geneva Lake for 19 miles into Burlington, Wisconsin. According to the United States Census Bureau , the city has an area of 6.55 square miles (16.96 km 2 ), of which 6.54 square miles (16.94 km 2 ) is land and 0.01 square miles (0.03 km 2 ) is water.
