8th Day is an American Hasidic pop rock band based in Los Alamitos, California. Formed in 2004 by brothers Shmuel and Bentzion Marcus, the group gained popularity in the Jewish music scene with their album Chasing Prophecy (2011) and its lead single , "Ya'alili", whose video became a minor viral hit on YouTube .
A second song released under the 8th Day name, "You've Got to Crawl (Before You Walk)", also hit the charts later that year, [1] and so HDH put together an actual group under the name, but their later recordings did not sell nearly as well as the first two, and the group quickly fizzled after a few more minor hits.
